Eating, Drinking and Riding.

Drive, Coffee, Drive, Eat, Drink, Sleep, Ride, Drink, Eat, Sleep, Eat, Ride, Eat, Drink, Sleep, Eat, Eat, Ride, Drink, Eat, Sleep, Eat, Eat, Ride, Eat, Drink, Sleep, Coffee, Drive, Eat, Drive, Ride, Eat.

That pretty much sums up my Thanksgiving weekend. Hope yours was great! The above is the graph out of my bro's Garmin from yesterday's ride. That first big bump just might have been the steepest hill I ever climbed. Not the longest, but ouch it hurt. Only 27, 45, 37, 45 miles for each day, but the eating was a whole lot more! :)

Just got back from a nice slow and easy 45. Today's weather was really nice.

I drove that hill today and it is about 1.5 miles. Not bad.

I haven't found anything close to that steep down here yet. 1.5 miles? That's a bit longer than I thought it was.

That's including the first gradual/level part before the real hill starts.

Looking at the graph it looks to be about 550' of climb over 7920' making it almost 7% grade. Red Rock on the other hand is a 1000' climb over 13200' (ele. and dist. by memory) giving 7.5% grade. Can you check on that?

RR is 2.49 miles from the stop sign to the elevation marker and 1047ft of elevation change. that's almost exactly 8% average, but that includes the level spots. The steepest parts are much more than 8%.

It's slightly steeper than Alp d'Huez, but you'd have to climb it 3x to equal d'Huez. :)

I argued once about what would it be categorized--RR that is. I said higher, the other dude said lower. I guess it would be lower due to it's short length?
