It is Rocket Science.

I was on the trainer tonight listening to the Tri-Talk podcast and the guy said that this dimpled water bottle from rocket science sports will save you 53 seconds over a 40k Time Trial. That got me to thinking, I know, dangerous but,...

If I had all the different cycling products that supposedly save you time while riding, this water bottle, aero wheels, dimpled wheels, aero helmet. dimpled cycling jersey, aero frame,... 13lb bike, the list goes on and on. Well if I had all those things, and maybe throw in a little EPO, blood boosting and testosterone, I wouldn't even have to train. Just show up at the race and coast to the win.  Yeah!!!!

Tonight's Training: 1 hour: 5 minutes on the bike in the kitchen.  Back to the gym tomorrow for intervals.

The bs detector went off in my head. Where exactly does the bottle go. Is it one of those behind the seats bottles or in the cages on the seat/down tube. But if dimpled was the way to go they will have dimpled frames and forks. Maybe thats why 15 year old kids kick my butt. Maybe Noriega would make a great cyclist.

Well, I was skeptical as well, but supposedly, one of the best aerodynamics scientists in the world tested this on the down tube and came up with those results, compared to a normal water bottle. Along with Zipp's claim and their dimpled wheels, like you, I'm still very skeptical. But you know, everyone needs a couple extra water bottles. I may order one.

Well, golf balls are dimpled and they fly (sometimes).

Golf balls are dimpled to increase magnus lift which helps them stay in the air longer.

If I carry a dozen of these, wouldn't that save me 12 minutes?
